Caitlin Sandiford’s contribution to the EEBP Book Project draws on resources developed through her Master’s project, including student-centred and teacher-led program materials, as well as a checklist adapted from the Learning Music website.

These ideas have been brought to life through her Year 7 unit Hookfest, which is informed by Jadey O’Regan’s work. In this unit, students take part in a series of creative challenges using a website created by Caitlin and the Learning Music website. This leads to the creation of an original hook that can be exported and expanded in Ableton Live.

As the unit is still being taught and refined in a school context, the program materials remain a work in progress. Caitlin says her future step will be to further clarify the written program and ensure that all supporting resources are available and accessible.
